Clariant helps from the floor up with flooring adhesives based on Mowilith® emulsions for fixing or sticking all kinds of textile floor coverings as well as PVC or parquet floor coverings. The life of a floor covering is also distinctly extended by a direct bond between the covering and the floor on which it is laid. Polymer emulsions are also used in adhesives for wall coverings, ceiling tiles and in laminated wallpapers.

For decades, Mowilith® emulsions have been used as binders, thickeners and dispersants in paints and coatings for both interior and exterior applications, replacing solvent-based systems. In emission-free paints, Mowilith® emulsions make it possible to dispense entirely with solvents and plasticisers. Their improved environmental friendliness means that they are in vogue and are increasingly replacing solvent-based systems. These paints are also easy to apply without splashes. By changing over from solvent-based paints to those based on Mowilith® emulsions, both decorators and users of the painted areas can enjoy benefits such as reducted impact on the environment and health and non-flammability.
Using Mowilith® emulsions also results in non-blocking, extremely weather resistant topcoat and glaze formulations as well as aqueous primers which have been setting new standards for years.
Heavy-duty carpeting may be packed with a layer of Mowilith® emulsion as a binder and film-former to immobilise the warp and weft.

The furniture industry requires aqueous emulsions specially tailored to particular machines for gluing timber: good processing properties, reliable joints, rapid setting, resistance to extremes of temperature and water are just some of the properties specified by manufacturers and joiners. The varnishes and top-coats for wooden-based furniture or parquet-floor are based nowadays more and more on water-based Mowilith® emulsions, replacing solvent-borne binder systems while ensuring the most demanding properties regarding gloss, scratch resistance and so forth.
