November 11, 2006 - Cartafen ZFX liq is a specially engineered polymer designed to absorb strongly onto any paper making fibers that still have lignin on the surface. It is also unaffected by the dissolved and colloidal anionic materials in the paper making furnish.
This means that Cartafen ZFX liq is ideal for use in paper making systems using unbleached or semi-bleached fibers (high-yield pulps) where conventional cationic additives are not usually cost-effective.
Cartafen ZFX liquid can make a difference to productivity and cost effectiveness wherever there is low fresh water usage (<5m3/tonne), high conductivity (>2,500 µS/cm, or when you are using lignin-containing pulp fibers - for example, liner and fluting grades using unbleached semi-bleached or waste fibers.
