The liquid sulphur dyes of the Diresul P product range are distinctly different from conventional sulphur dyes. Thanks to innovative research by the Clariant development team in Spain, Clariant has successfully established a product line that is renowned on the market place for combining an ecological profile with economics and industrial safety. Specifically, these products are alkaline solutions of reduced sulphur dyes. The dye molecules are solubilized by adding suitable reducers in an alkaline medium.

Specialty chemicals expert Clariant sets a new paper industry benchmark in fluorescence removal with the return of new and improved Cartarex NT liq fluorescence quenching agent for papermakers. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has awarded Clariant its 2007 P2 Recognition Project Award for Cartaspers PSM, a product used in paper manufacturing. Only three such awards were made by EPA from among all of the new chemicals submitted to the agency for registration in the U.S. during the year. Cartaspers PSM is a nonionic, hydrophilic polymer with high affinity for hydrophobic surfaces. It was designed by Clariant for control of "stickies" in the board- and paper-making process.
